This was my second order from Dick's online. The first was some miscellaneous parts. I had no problems with that order. This time, I ordered a Proform treadmill on or about May 5, 2004. I paid for "white glove delivery". First of all, the delivery set up took about 3 weeks. Next, I was given an 800 number for final details. I called that number only to referred to THREE different numbers. Clearly, no one had much of a clue, nor a desire to take ownership of the situation. I finally was sent to FIRST CALL RELOCATIONS in Indianapolis, IN, agent for Bekins Moving and Storage. I was told the item would be delivered a few days later between 8am and 12pm. 11:30 rolled around and no word. I called and was advised that the truck was held up and would be late. They suggested that the delivery might end up being delayed until NEXT WEEK. I advised that this was unacceptable and was then told that delivery would occur later that afternoon. I called again at about 3:00 pm and was told that delivery would be after 6:00 pm, but that it would occur. I never received any call, nor update, and the item never arrived. I contacted Dicks that eventing, and again the next day. Though they were polite, it was pretty clear that they were not going to really try and resolve the problem and complete the sale/delivery. They advised that they would return the item to the shipper (factory) and that I would receive a credit 5-7 DAYS AFTER THE ITEM WAS RETURNED. (i.e. I'm being charged for an item I never received for about 6 weeks. I am completing a dispute via my credit card so I don't pay any finanance charges). I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE YOU CONSIDER USING DICK'S SPORTING GOODS FOR ANY MAIL ORDER NEEDS.
