| 4paws's Full Review: un-du Adhesive Remover |
I hate getting a new product home only to spend an hour or so trying to get those sticky labels off! No, I mean, I really hate it. What are they afraid of? Do they think that the stick-um has to last through a nuclear war or something? Im sure some fool eons ago switched some tags in a store somewhere causing the retailers to complain about the ease with which it could be done. So, they probably hit up the manufacturers to produce a product that would keep that from ever happening again. So, as a result of the usual mind-numbing rush of the manufacturer zealot came up with a glue to use on the back of product price tags that could hold the two train cabooses together while the trains try to go in opposite directions.
I have ruined finishes on new pots, on furniture, and nearly every other thing that I didnt make myself. The only thing from which the tag can be easily removed is on the inside of the trashcan. Who cares?
So, I went on a quest trying to find something or a system to remove such tags without destroying the thing I had just bought. I tried degreasers, soaps, scrapers, heat, soaking in hot water, using vegetable oil and all to no avail. Finally, one day I discovered un-du Adhesive Remover. I took it home. Of course, the first problem was how to get the tag off the un-du Adhesive Remover. No, kidding, I didnt care about that tag, wouldnt you know?
I did, however, have some custard dishes with the horrid price tag on the bottom. So, I got them out, lined them up like little soldiers and then read the directions to see how to use un-du
Directions
(from the bottle)
Squeeze several drops of the un-du solution into the attached tool. Use tool to apply solution and lift adhesive. Add drop as needed to work the solution underneath the sticker, label or tape. If residue remains, apply a few more drops of the solution and wipe using a clean tissue.
What that means is that the bottle of the un-du Adhesive Remover has a little scoop on the backside of the screw-off cap that resembles the air scoop on the hood of a souped up car. After you screw the cap off the bottle, you turn the bottle to a side and allow some of the solution to drip out into the scoop. The scoop works much like a spatula to allow you to spread the solution all over the horrid little tag. Then you use the edge of the scoop to pry the tag/label upward and it comes up quite easily. I have not yet found a tag it wouldnt work with, so far. I am so happy. You dont have to be too concerned about getting too much solution out. The solution dries quite rapidly.
So, I worked on those little custard bowls and easily removed all the tags. In fact, every so often, the tags almost floated on the solution and came right up. Since that time, I have found several other uses for this magic potion.

This product has become popular with scrapbookers. You can remove stickers from their mounting if it isnt quite where you want it and it still has its sticky on it. Therefore, you only have to pick it up and move it. I have removed stamps from envelopes that I made an error on and saved the stamp. I had some family photos that had been in an old album for so long, they were impossible to remove without damaging them. Not with un-du Adhesive Remover. I was able to remove all those photos without harming them. I have removed gum from my carpet; some strange stuff that I dont think I ever want to know what was off my upholstered sofa. Thankfully, I was able to remove an unwanted and unappreciated bumper sticker from my car bumper. It was simple to remove all traces of spilled candle wax on a piece of wood furniture that I was afraid was permanently marred.

Final Thoughts
I found this product not only to have a very specific use for which I was looking, but is versatile enough to perform even more tasks. The price is quite reasonable considering how long it lasts and its many uses. I purchased a 4 fluid ounce bottle for $7.99 several years ago and I still have half a bottle. I am so grateful to the manufacturers who provided this product and removed one of my petty annoyances from my life. Im surprised it hasnt come out in Orange scent yet.
