Very good advice! It really is something that some of us have to tell ourselves often before we believe it ourselves.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to leave your thoughts!

Accidents Happen! (Reply to this comment)
by annecal
Is what my mother would call out in a sing-song voice when I would accidentally break or spill something as a child. Recently, my boyfriend dropped a framed and expensive painting I am very fond of while trying to rehang it for me, and I laughed. Accident's happen. Material things come and go (thankfully in this case, there was little damage), don't sweat the small stuff, and your kids won't either!

Great review!

Hi,

I think our kids will do well in life if they have good self esteem. I think you did a great job on the epinion.

Thanks for adding me to your WOT. I appreciate it. I've read all your latest epinions and think all your epinions are very helpful. I have put you on my Ptiemann Notification Site. I also have added you to my WOT. See you again soon.

It would really make a difference in this world if parents would see it.

Thank you for your comment and rating.

I strongly suggest you check your son's school for an Active Parenting Workshop. If nothing else, suggest it. You'd be amazed at how quickly you can rewire your thinking.

Good luck, just stick with it.

I've no doubt that this is true. My cousin is a probation officer in Milwaukee, and would probably also agree.

Thanks for reading!

I got a lot out of your review. I'm trying to do things differently for my son than my parents did for me for similar reasons. It is difficult though...responses are almost hardwired into your mind. I'm always interested in new sources and alternate advice. Great job! -Elizabeth (Xmasbaby)

Good Advice (Reply to this comment)

In my government career I dealt with many people described in your next-to-the-last paragraph. Better parenting probably could have changed a lot of them, and some had very low self-esteem.
