I go to Florida a lot to see my mom but the last two years hubby and I have been traveling there for 3 weeks in Dec/Jan and never went to Pensicola. We'll have to put it on our list for this year. Thanks for the info. Great review. jo

Hi thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, it's appreciated. Marcus Pointe is a great course, I play Tiger a couple of times a month... i know you're excited about retiring here... this place draws you back when you try to leave!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment... I moved here from Houston, not sure what part of the Lone Star you're in, but we're only a days' drive from Houston. If you're ever in the area... email ahead and you'll get a personal guided tour! :) It's so hard in a review to truly describe the beauty of this place...

Well, alright! You just about got me sold here! I'm always up for hanging out on the beach, and you do make this sound like one appealing patch of sand.

One of these days I'll have to try to cruise down to Pensacola and check it out for myself...

Thanks for the insider insight!

Santa Rosa Island! I've been there plenty of times because my brother is in the Navy and he was stationed there twice. I've fished on the long fishing pier you mentioned and I love watching the pelicans that hang out there.

My brother who is now a Master Chief in the Navy has been stationed many places since 1982 but Pensacola is his favorite..he often says how he would love to retire there.

You are so lucky to live there..enjoy it, it is a rare jewel in Florida that many people bypass for places like Orlando.

Thanks for bringing back some fond memories.

Peggy:)

I was born in Pensacola and grew up on the gulf coast (DeFuniak Springs). You're right, it's pretty close to Paradise. I return at least once a year, but can't wait to retire and move back home. Great review. Glad to see you include the golf courses. Marcus Pointe is my favorite in the area. Best wishes. Sheila
