Although I'm a total idiot when it comes to these kind of matters, the deal with connecting an amplifier along with a modem brought back a funny scene from the movie, "Back To The Future", Marty goes in to play his guitar on his friend Doc Brown's amplifier and blows the place to smithereens, but not before blowing himself 30 feet backwards into a shelf of books that proceeds to collapse onto his body. Shortly thereafter, there is a phone call from the Doc himself....
Doc: "Oh, and Marty, you might not wanna hook up to the amplifier, there's a slight possibility of overload."
Marty: "Um, yeah. I'll keep that in mind."
