The Bottom Line: This is the best subwoofer i have ever experienced. Both bass clarity and overall frequency distortion are immaculate. These are ten inches of pure music.

This ten inch sub is unbelievable. I used to have two fifteen inch subwoofers, also sony, and they didnt pump as hard as these two did. Use a high quality amplifier and equalizer and you cannot find a better subwoofer sound anywhere else. By choosing this ten inch subwoofer over the "mainstream" street twelve inch sub you will experience a better quality sound and way better performance. By choosing a smaller subwoofer, it takes less energy to make the speaker move, since it is a smaller diameter. This makes the amplified watts more important to the sound of the speaker rather than the physics of its movement and air displacement. By using a fifteen inch subwoofer, there is a lot more air movement around the subwoofer creating a sound wave interference. this can distort the sound and create unwanted decibal loss. These ten inches of subwoofage are the best i have ever experienced as a show winning audio sound enthusiast. I have experienced better sound and unbelievable bass with these ten's. Use this in combination with sony's EQ series amps' or, as I do, use the 450 watt amplifier with an added digital equalizer. Maximize the frequencies and these will hit harder than anyone elses system around. I use these in conjunction with a sealed dual ten inch enclosure and extra battery with alternator to keep my sound strong. But these are clearly the best speakers i have heard from sony and they definately beat even Infinity Kappa Perfect 12's. Mix these sub's with sony xplod 6x9 three ways or four ways and you cant go wrong even if you tried. Dont pass up great sound performance for a little more money. Another hundred dollars per speaker is worth the no-hassle quality of these speakers.
