After a trip to Tahiti, I did extensive research on Photo sharing sites. SmugMug is the hands down winner for the following reasons:
1. NO ADS to distract from your pictures. All you see are YOUR pictures on a beautiful, crisp Black background. (of course you can choose white if you prefer, but black will totally flatter your pictures.
2. YOUR FRIENDS DONT HAVE TO LOG IN OR SIGN UP. One click on the link you send them and boom, they are viewing your pictures. its "grandma proof". Very Easy.
3. Pictures are available for downloading to use a developer of choice OR use SmugMug. Their prints are beautiful, they did alot of research to find the best company and went with EZPrints, a top choice.
4. Its run by professional photographers who are awesome at customer service. They respond very fast and are very pleasant.
5. They offer "4D" prints which were designed specifically for digital cameras. As you might know, digital is not set up to print a perfect 4x6. With 4D prints, there is no need to pre-crop your photos. Nice touch, and same price as 4x6 prints.
6. 7 day free trial is very convincing. Upload your pics and you will love the look of your gallery and your photos.
7. You get a unique web address of www.yourname.smugmug.com . Very easy to remember when your at friends house and want to show off your photos.
8. Its only $29 per year but you can save $5 by using this coupon code: kFhkcQ3xmZ91U . Then its only $24 which works out to 50cents a week. I can live with that, for the beauty and the storage alone it is worth it.
9. They do offer you $10 credit for each friend you refer, thats nice of them, and you can refer 3 friends and its basically free.
Bottom line is I am so happy with the way my pictures look, and my friends have complimented me on the site. I think if you try it you will agree.
