I bought the TC1100 on ebay for about $1,500 with 1GB RAM and 3 year warranty. A good price at the time.
When taking it out of the factory box for the first time, I noticed the size/weight. It fit perfectly in my hand and not heavy. When I turned it on I was disappointed to to find one dead pixel near the bottom right. I have heard about dead pixels from other users. Otherwise the screen is great. One complaint though, I can swear it has a very small "shier stocking" effect. It doesnt seem 100% clear, but most people wont notice it. The pen works good, but sometime doesnt seem to be 100% accurate, but I dont notice it much and am use to it.
Performance is great considering the cpu and video card. I didnt run any benchmarks, but have macromedia/adobe/office 2003 installed and all open and run fine (granted I didnt do any big projects in them). I wasnt planning on installing any games, but I decided to see how Call Of Duty ran. I ran it with all the settings at high and to my supprise it ran smooth! I also have GTA3/Nascar 2003/The Hulk installed, but havent had a chance to try them much yet. Tablet PC's are no gaming machines and there not meant to be, but with the large 40GB (for a TPC anyway), I had some extra room, and when docked with the keyboard and AC adapter, hey why not?
I have no complaints about the wireless. I have a Linksys WRT54G in my room and I can connect all through the house and outside. To be honest, I dont know if I have it running at "g" speeds or "b" speeds. I thought it said a/b/g card, but it might only run a/b. I'll have to look into it. Anyways I surf the net and watch full screen mpeg videos stored on another computer with no bandwidth problems.
Battery life is ok. I think I got about an hour and half per charge, but thats average I guess.
Overall im glad I bought this. This is my second Tablet, the first being a Vision V800XPT ($500 used, $900 new). The Vision is geared more for home users and the TC1100 is more for business users. Im not using the TC1100 for business use, I chose it for build quality, performance, and access to RAM/HD.
