Pros: Size/weight, scroll buttons on side, very clear screen.
Cons: No access to HD/RAM, Transmitta CPU, questionable tech support, keyboard not working.
The Bottom Line: A good "first time" tablet, providing its fully works and you dont need tech support.

| olanin_justin's Full Review: TDV Vison Visionary V800XPT Tablet PC |
I was looking for a laptop for sometime, but fell in love with the Tablet PC scene. I really wanted the TC1100 from HP, but couldn' afford it. On a whim, I bought the V800XPT used for $500.
Being used for about 6 months from the previous user, it was still in excellent condition. I only had it for about 3 weeks myself before I sold it, but did use it pretty hard.
The size is perfect and the screen is the clearest that I have ever seen. Its as clear as a regular laptop, unlike some tablets that have a shier stocking effect or appear soft. The second thing I love about it is the scroll buttons on the right hand side. I view pictures in full screen and use them to scroll up/down.
Performance isnt good. The Transmitta 800mhz is almost too slow to really doing anything much more then web surf. I tried running mpeg home movies (vcd specs) in full screen, and on occasion it would slow while playing due to high cpu usage.
Wireless worked out good. I have a Linksys WRT54G in my room and had good connection.
I couldnt get the included keyboard to work. I hooked it up, but Windows said USB device not recognized. It couldnt find the drivers and Vision didnt include them. Tech support is a toll call to CA. I tried about 8 times throughout a Tuesday but no one awnsered when I went into the tech support ext. I was on hold for about 5 minutes each time till I got disconnected. Those 8 calls will really add up when the bill comes! (im in PA). On the 9th time I went to the operator and demanded to talk to someone. I got someone right aways (hint if you ever need to call), and told the tech my problem. He said he never saw or heard of it before. After arguing for a bit, he said to try it later and if it doesnt work he would send out a restore CD.
It didnt work later and I sold it for $500 and bought a HP TC1100.
