HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I GUARANTEE YOU WILL HAVE A BILLING PROBLEM AND YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY EXTORTION MONEY TO JUST GET YOUR PHONE TURNED ON.
STOP RIGHT NOW AND CALL THEIR "CUSTOMER SERVICE" AND ASK FOR A PERSON WHO WILL GIVE YOU AN ACTUAL CALLBACK NUMBER. You can't have it. They will even tell you they have no phone for the president of ATT.
PLEASE DON'T DON'T DON'T make the mistake of signing up... I don't care how cheap it is, how free the phone is...
There isn't room to write enough expletives to describe the horrendous, convoluted, entrapping little scam they have going.
You bite on some free phone deal and sign a contract and now they've got you. They fail to put you on the plan you ordered either because they ALL are incompetent and no one handles quality control whatsoever or because their negligence and "mistakes" are built into the system to be able to overcharge you. Then they do overcharge you.
Then they cut off your phone when you don't pay the overcharges. The burden is on YOU but the system is THEIRS so good luck. I don't think it's an accident that we've dealt with about 12 reps all of which did NOT follow through and call us back, NOR did they leave notes on the file to identify themselves when they screwed up, so it's like you NEVER CALLED.
When you call to try to fix it you sit on hold for a LONG time... usually a half hour for starters. After that time if the rep you get can't figure out how to fix the problem, and mostly they can't because they will hire anyone who can fog up a mirror... they put you on hold AGAIN, cut you off, and you just never hear from them.
We have invested probably 12 hours trying to save ourselves the $500 overcharges. That isn't even the greatest cost... the real cost is in truly honestly actually wanting to FIND THEM and KILL THEM because you STILL can not use your phone, and when you try to use THEIR SYSTEM to fix THEIR PROBLEM you can not get it done... and now THEY can damage YOUR credit.
I've asked the reps... Is this company as horrible to work for as it is to deal with? Answer: It's a job. Meaning, yes. They suck in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. I'm sure there will be a class action law suit soon and I look forward to hopping on with full force, but don't be so unfortunate as we are.
I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM ATT BECAUSE OF THIS EXPERIENCE.
