I bought a top of the line gaming system from them on about the beginning of March this year and had a horrible experience. Ill be brief as possible
the computer was dead on arrival (their term
apparently they have this happen so often theyve got a special name for it, lol). There were several things wrong with the computer when I got it that completely blows away their claim that they have a 72-hour burn-in process to assure quality. Let me start by saying the upgraded case was very cheap and actually bulged out on the side because the way it was set up the hard drive cording came out on the side you open and it was impossible to close the case and have enough room for the side to go on normally. When I first got my computer and plugged it in (after I had to completely remount my cold cathode light and reassemble the circuit board container that controlled it, and also plug in the power cords to one of my hard drives and also 1 of the 2 needed power cables needed for my GeForce FX5950 Ultra card
talk about incompetence), it immediately got stuck in a blue screen of death reboot circle! It wouldnt even power on! I went into safe mode to get it to boot, and after I disabled some apparently proprietary program they had set up to run at startup, I finally got the computer to boot all the way up. It didnt end there however
It was instantly visible that there was a serious problem with the display; there were random fuzzy lines on the screen and several desktop icons were all gray and messed up; all 3D games and the Nvidia demonstration program were completely unusable as well.
Long story shortafter spending 3 days trying to get through to their tech support line which was supposed to provide 24/7 tech support service; but conspicuously rang busy 85% of the time, and the rest of the time would just ring so long that the phone company had a recording come on and say they arent answering and then disconnects youI finally got a very curt and obnoxious tech guy who declared it was a bad video card. Duh! I shipped them back the video card (my expense) and then they sent me one (I sent it to get to them to arrive in 2 days for about $3, but by the time I got it back from them it was over 2 weeks). I installed the video card and the computer worked
except it wasnt working in the Dual Channel Mode for the RAM, and the 400Mhz bus was running at 200! Days later when I got a hold of their tech support again the guy originally told me that my mobo wasnt capable of 400Mhz OR Dual Channel, I replied that I ordered the one that WAS and that even the box that came with the system said the mobo was capable of both! He then told me to read the mobo book to try and find the problem, he said he wasnt familiar with my motherboard and couldnt find a manual for it there where he was because there was a long line! This was their great 24/7-tech support! He ended up telling me to call the mobo manufacturer! I called them, but after leaving a message for the mobo people to call me back (I got voicemail) I figured Id just reset the BIOS to the safe setting (or default) and start fresh. After that I rebooted it and it gave me some voiced error message (had one of those voice enhanced error reporting features) and it shut down; at that point I couldnt get the computer to do ANYTHING! It was 100% dead (power came on with fans, etc but could not get to BIOS or anything). I even tried manually clearing the CMOS and that didnt work either. I spent 3 more hours investigating the mobo on various message boards, but nothing I found worked.
The next day, after having been charged a considerable sum of money for a top of the line gaming rig many weeks before and STILL not having a computer that did anything, I decided I was making them refund me the entire cost and sending the piece of garbage back to their shifty operation! After I finally got their tech support on the phone again (took a few days) and got an RMA, I sent their computer system back and paid out of pocket (again) to have it there within 4-5 working days. After they confirmed receipt of the system, it took several more complaint emails and threats of legal action before I got my money back (minus all shipping and handling and processing, which equaled about $140); the credit appeared on my credit card 4 weeks AFTER they confirmed they had the complete computer back in their hands!
