I have to agree that ebates.com is a great site. A friend told me about it and I ignored her -- thinking there was a catch. Finally I decided to look into it and am glad I did! I simply go to ebates.com first and click on the store name, it assigns a ticket number and it takes me to the store's homepage. I shop as usual and then get an email telling me how much cash has been added to my account. Every 3 months, I get a check -- as long as the amount is over $5. No problem there! If you don't have $5 in your account, you don't lose it. The payment is just delayed until the next pay period. If you refer a friend, you each get $5 added to your account when that friend makes their first purchase. The list of stores is huge. No matter what I am ordering online, I always check ebates.com to see if that store is on the list. It usually is. Even if I have a promotional code or coupon offer, I can use that in addition to the ebates rebate. It takes such little effort, why wouldn't you give it a try? It costs nothing to register. I have not had to pay for this service and they just send me a check every 3 months. It's great!

A cool idea but I just cant get over how they install spyware on your pc. To me its unacceptable! I search for deals and coupons on www.halfpricebob.com and there is no pop ups or spyware just good ol' deals!

That is an option on Ebates as well you can have your cash back donated to a charity. At least with ebates you can make that decision at any time and flip between rebate and charity donation.

Wow, I've never heard of this site before, but I do use one like it: igive.com.
It's the same concept, except it gives a percentage of the proceeds to a charity, which, in my mind is just plain awesome because you get to choose from TONS of different charities while buying things you probably would anyway.
The list of stores on igive is tremendous and includes almost all the major stores and name brands you can think of.
If you like EBates, you'll probably like igive.

...I went to the ebates web site to sign up, thanks to your review. I tried to enter your e-mail address (modernmarvelmom@yahoo.com) on the "friend" referral section during sign up, but when I tried to enter the information, a window came up that said to "Please enter a valid e-mail address for the friend who referred you." I don't know why it didn't work, but I tried.
