Pros: Dust is removed, not spread back into the room to resettle later.
Cons: They are disposable, so they are not as environmentally friendly as some other products.
The Bottom Line: Swiffer Dusters really live up to the their promise, removing dust, not leaving it in your house to resettle.

| jessicarbt's Full Review: Swiffer Dusters Cleaning System |
I admit it, I am skeptic and a pessimist. If it looks too good to be true, I assume it IS!
So, when I was looking at the box of Swiffer Dusters, I sneered at the package. "Sure, just another ploy to waste my money while not working as well as promised." As I was walking away, I saw the sale price. $2 after rebate? I decided that for $2, I could try them out.
I walked into the office and opened the package. The handled seemed a little flimsy. ("See, I was right, a box of junk", I thought to myself) 40 seconds after opening the package, I was ready to start dusting. 30 seconds later, I was in love with this product!
These are like little handheld dust mops, with the little shredded ends that really catch the dust! No residue left on my furniture or office appliances, just dust free surfaces. No funny smells, no smearing dust around in circles or just brushing it off on the floor. I was able to get into nooks and crannies easily. Cleaning the blinds was a breeze. Thick dust buildup was easily removed..I admit it, I hate to dust. It makes my sinuses swell shut so I don't do it as often as I should! With Swiffer Dusters, I wasn't putting the dust back into the air, and I didn't get a sinus headache after dusting!
As for the "flimsy" handle, it wasn't. It has held up without a complaint, not falling apart or causing problems.
These works better than my feather duster and better than the electrostatic dusters. I am hooked, and have been telling everyone how wonderful they work!
How many come to a box? How much do they cost?
You can purchase the dusters several way. The initial kit I am describing is sold with a handle, and a pack of 5 duster "pads" for around $4.29. You can then purchase refills of 10 pads for around $7.99. Swiffer also developed a longer handle that extends up to 3 feet, with a head that pivots. You can lock the head into 4 different positions. This sells for $7.99 for the initial pack of handle and 5 dusters. The duster "pads" fit either handle.
How do I put it together?
You remove the handle from the box, line up the rounded edges and snap them together. You only need to do this one time. Then, you take the dusting pad and fluff it up. To do this, you hold it dusting side up by the ends, and make a waving motion with it until the fibers fluff up nicely. Then, put your fluffed pad on the handle. You can use it unfluffed as I did my first time, and it does work just as well, but fluffed is better!
Where do I find them?
Major grocery stores carry them, as do many drug stores and online stores. Shop around to find the best price (including shipping costs if online).
Can they be reused?
No, not really, but if you are only doing light dusting, they can last for several dustings. Your dusting milage will vary depending on how much dust you have at your house!
