I’ll admit it. I’m a game playing addict. If there is a site to play games, I’ve probably tried them out. Several months ago, I saw a site on television that I decided to try out. The name was called Flipside. www.flipside.com Now that I’ve tried this site out, I haven’t gone any place else to play games. They have just about every kind of game that you can imagine!
What makes Flipside different than other game sites? Flipside pays out something called Flips whenever you play their games. Generally the higher score that you get on a game, the higher the flip pay out that you get. The Flips are then saved and you can redeem prizes or enter into prize drawings. The prizes are quite good. You can win prizes in lots of different categories. The top prize drawings are generally trips, say to Disneyland, Australia, or you could win a digital camera package. There are also prizes that you can get that don’t require a drawing, such as a color Gameboy or gift certificates. At one time Flipside offered a $100 prize for your Flips. I did get this prize in the mail, so I do know that they do pay out. However, it took me 12 weeks to get it, so it seems that they do take a while to get your prizes to you.
Flipside is the remains of what used to be Prize Central. It is powered by Won.net software. One other good aspect of the site is that they are teamed up with other groups that bring you tournaments. Tournaments are ways to “prove” your skill and play with other people. The more popular the game, the more times a day you are going to find a tournament going on. Most of the games are based on Hoyle games.
I’m going to list the games that Flipside offers, to show you all the different ways to earn flips.
Card Games: Solitaire, Spades, Hearts, Gin, Bridge, Pinochle, Cribbage, and Euchre.
Word Games: Wordox (like Scrabble), Word Search, Word Yacht (like Boggle), Hangman, Crosswords, and Doublecross.
Board Games: Backgammon, Dominoes, Checkers, Pachisi, Chess, Reversi, and Yacht (like Yahtzee).
Puzzle Games: Volcanic Stacker (like Tetris), Audio Memory, Roof Rats, Jigsaw puzzles, and Memory.
Arcade Games: Tiki Pinball, Snowcraft, Prize Man, Prize Sweeper, Prize invaders, Cupid’s Quest, Absolute Zero, and Billy’s Boneyard Battle.
IMGames: There are games that you can play with people via ICQ and includes Backgammon, checkers, and chess.
Email Games: Though I’ve never played these, I assume you challenge someone by email and play games by sending Email back and forth.
Party Games: You Don’t Know Jack by Bezerk, Cosmic Consensus, Apples to Apples, and Acrophobia.
Virtual Vegas: These are games that are like what you play in Vegas. They have Blackjack, Video Poker, Slots, Roulette, and Craps.
One thing that I need to tell you to do, is to sign up for the Flipside Newsletter. It comes to you about twice a week and informs you of new games that are being offered. It also has some advertising in it. Of course, the advertising is what pays for your prizes! But inside the newsletter, they give you Flips by just clicking on something they want you to see. You can make generally from 5 to 30 flips per issue.
As you can see, Flipside can keep you entertained for hours, but the added benefit is that you may actually get something out of playing the games!
