Re: RAM (Reply to this comment)

Thanks.
I realise that my m/b won't take 66mhz RAM, so thanks for pointing that out. I didn't honestly put DDR RAM in there basically because I have no experiences with it. Sorry, but I'll try and research it for you. OK?

RAM (Reply to this comment)
by vicwang
Great job with this editorial. Regarding RAM, however, to my knowledge there aren't any Socket-A motherboards that will accept PC-66 RAM, since the minimum speed they support is 100 mhz. In theory you could do it, but you'll be overclocking your memory 50% past spec.
I'd also suggest mentioning DDR (double data rate) RAM and DDR motherboards, since they are currently only available in Socket-A boards, and offer about double the memory speed for only slightly higher cost.
Aside from that, great job covering all the bases.

A terrific, helpful piece of editorial writing....! (Reply to this comment)

Classy of you to cleary lay out the steps that a new user would need to follow to construct a computer from component parts.
I've never attempted this, but your VERY helpful review would be the first thing I'd refer to if I ever did try.
Well done...!
