I like the Eddie Bauer brand ~ from their clothing to their luggage. I order from their online site less than I shop from their B&M stores because of their added charges. But, when they offer a good coupon code and have the perfect pair of pants, I find myself ordering again.
FINDING WHAT YOU NEED
There are two main ways to find what you need at Eddie Bauers online store ~
1. The Search option which works by keyword or item number.
2. The bar on the side of the page with 13 categories ~
• Men
• Women
• Shoes
• Gear
• Home Store
All of these options move with you throughout the site, making it easy to go from one area to another.
SHOPPING
When you find a product you are interested in you click on the products name or picture to get more information. I like the way you can not only get a larger view of the item but change it to the different colors that are available. This makes it MUCH easier to make a choice than just seeing little swatches of the different colors.
To purchase an item, you put in the number of the item you want to buy, then click on the ADD TO CART button. You can then continue shopping or head to checkout. You also have the option of adding the item to your wish list.
Once you are ready to checkout you need to give all the regular billing and mailing information. After picking a password, you will be able to have this information on file and save time on future orders.
After ordering, you will get a detailed order confirmation email. You are able to track your purchase online.
SHIPPING
There are three shipping options available at Eddie Bauer.com ~
• Standard (7-10 business days)
• Express (3 business days)
• Express Plus (2 business days)
One additional business day for orders placed after 3:00 p.m. (PT).
The standardshipping prices are ~
• up to $50.00 $4.95
• $50.01 - $80.00 $6.95
• $80.01-$110. $8.95
• $110.01-$140 $10.95
• $140.01-$170 $12.95
• over $170.01 $14.95
• There is an additional $3.00 handling fee, per address, charged for each order. This is true even when you use a FREE shipping code.
Here is a BIG complaint of mine ~ Sales tax is charged on the total merchandise, shipping and handling charges for some states including Washington. I find it absurd that we are charge sales tax on THEIR added charges! This is the only store I have ordered from that has added tax on both shipping and handling charges. On a $64.99 order, the shipping, handling and taxes on it all, the price moved up to $80.24!

For me, buying pants can be a pain. I wear a 6 Tall and very few store carry them. Eddie Bauer does and therefore, I end up buying from them often. Once I found out that they charged not only a handling charge but also charged sales tax on it AND the shipping fees, I swore not to buy from them online again. But, then of course they had this amazing online sale AND I had a great coupon code so of course, I did order again!
On the positive side, they do have a wonderful inventory (I have never had an go out of stock on me), an easy to navigate site and on time delivery.
I am giving them 4 stars because even with the high charges, they do put out coupon codes and I do so love their pants :-)
