Good Point about the Contract Brewing Fact (Reply to this comment)
by silverkris
Bruguru makes an excellent point about the fact that Sam Adams is a contract brew, rather than a local microbrew. It is rather deceptive about Jim Koch touting it or hinding that fact, though from a business standpoint, it actually makes sense.

Nevertheless, this doesn't change the fact that Sam Adams Boston Lager and Summer Brew taste really good, and I have to hand Koch credit for that.

For those interested in the brewing industry, Philip Van Munchen's "Beer Blast" and Daniel Baum's, "Citizen Coors: An American Dynasty" are great reads.

Very useful collection of information. I like the way that epinions added these new categories so we can write about a brewery and it's beers in general. You picked out some good ones and could have listed many more. I'm currently loving their summer-weizen.

You sure didn't achieve the username by accident did you? I don't think I've ever seen so many detailed beer reviews before. Maybe us Aussies are getting all the crappy stuff over here. I might have to look more carefully next time.

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but when I do have a cold one, it is often a Sam Adams. Thanks for the historical perspective!

Thanks for sharing.

Your insights are always refreshing.

I'm inclined to slip out of the office and enjoy some afternoon beveraging.

I wrote a similar review about Sam Adams beer and got bashed for it (probably because I didn't have nice things to say about the beer!). You're right about mass brewing! This beer is made in factories - making their advertising a bit deceptive! Thanks for the review! Excellent work!
