And this is one of my Dream Hotels (Reply to this comment)
by nvherron
I have been wanting to stay here since I was a little boy, and the Chateau Frontenac. In fact, all of the old Canadian Railway hotels from Vancouver through Banff, etc., etc. Let me know if you ever need a sidekick!
It's disappointing to hear of a decline under Fairmont. I was hoping that they would actually be an improvement on Canadian Pacific after their takeover in the late 90's. Happy Travels!

Pink..... (Reply to this comment)

Funny you should mention that. The color scheme at the Breakers was similar, but the shade of pink at the Chateua Laurier was more of a light Pepto Bismol wash...definitely less cheerful than Palm Beach. Thanks, Tom Barnes
PS--An interesting place to try i Ottawa might be the Arc, a surprisingly attractive renovation of a dismal old Hojo's into a stylish and modern hotel. I might try it next time myself. Tom

have read many a good thing about this grand hotel. The color scheme of your room sounds a bit Palm Beachish, no? I really enjoyed this one! Shame on them for not letting you into their lounge!
My best,
Deborah~
