expensive but good

Pros:removes wrinkles
Cons:does not remove dryer creases
The Bottom Line: Buy it unless you like ironing.

About 4.5 years ago I started buying linen pants on ebay for about $20 a pop. At that price, I couldn't justify the cost of taking them to the dry cleaner. I figured if washing damaged them I could just buy another pair. Most of the pants held up just fine, but wrinkles were a problem, so I bought an electric pants press from Sharper Image. It was expensive but they market was high, and I managed to find a discount coupon for Sharper Image (look for $50 off a purchase of $250 or more).

The press does a good job of removing wrinkles, although not a great one. You have to smooth out the pants before inserting and make sure that they stay flat while you close the press. The press does grab the pants at the bottom, which helps immensely with this job, but it's nearly impossible to keep badly creased pants completely flat. It would help if the press had a bar that rolled along the pants as you closed it, but it doesn't have one.

Basically, the results you get from the press depend on the condition of the pants going in. Badly wrinkled pants come out in fair condition. Unwrinkled wool pants come out with nice crisp creases.

I recommend that you remove all of your linen items from the dryer while they are still moist and hang them to finish drying. I use wooden clamp-style hangers for the pants. You can press the pants before wearing if they need it. Pressing between wearings really improves the appearance.

It also give a nice crisp look to my Dockers.
