Pros: Unique and fun to drive!
Cons: No storage, bad cupholder placement.
The Bottom Line: I LOVE THIS CAR. It makes me smile when I'm driving - even our Florida roads!

We just leased a 2004 red New Beetle Convertible. I must say it is the most enjoyable car I have ever owned. I've had it for over a month now and it has been a pleasure to drive every day. I actually find myself SMILING when driving. For a person who hated driving, I now look for reasons why I need to "run out to the store" to get something just so I can drive my car.
It is SO hot here in Florida now and therefore I cannot put the top down after 10am - or I'd melt. Even with the top up it is a pleasure.
It's not the fastest car I've ever owned (by a long shot); It is not the most luxurious car I've ever owned; It's not even the only convertible I've ever owned; But it is DEFINITELY the most FUN car I've ever owned!!
Take note that there are some quirks that have not been ironed out yet apparently. The airbag light comes on and stays on for MANY of these cars, just after purchase. I took it in to the dealership and it was fixed quickly (a code had to be cleared). There is NO storage space in this car at all. I'm used to a huge SUV with plenty of cupholders, storage, S P A C E. You'll have none of that here. However I did buy a couple of little storage helpers from Target that really do a great job. The cup holder situation is dismal. But I can live with it.
Take a test drive - You will LOVE this little baby. Finally, I can now say that I love BUGS.
