Recumbants are a lot of fun and you describe them well. Just thought I'd add this for anyone who hasn't ridden one yet:

In the review he talked about different muscles. This is true, but the major issue is that as you don't really have the option to stand or move around in your seat much. On an upright bike you can switch between muscle groups by changing your body position. This is a no go on the recumbants, which means that you will have to use the same set of muscles all the time. You are essentially doing leg presses the whole time, be ready for quads of steel.
