Neopets is an online game where you or your child can create up to four Neopets which you will need to feed and take care of and sometimes even take them to a battle dome to beat up other people's Neopets. You play games to win neo points which you can use to buy toys, food, or a petpet for your Neopet. That's right, even these virtual pets can have their own pets. You can also start a shop to help get neo points or do it the much faster way and auction your items that you don't want.

I think that this game is really easy to figure out. It is a really safe game. I think you can feel safe letting your kids play Neopets, and if they are under thirteen you don't even have to worry about anyone Neo Mailing them without your permission. There are a lot of competitions that encourage your child to become a better writer (poetry and stories), be creative (create captions for a scene that they provide), and draw their pets to be entered in a weekly beauty contest.

There are some semi-mean things that are on Neopets though. I'm not really sure what these things are supposed to teach children (the ghosts have stolen your neo points and put them on the money tree, the pants devil stole your wand of super nova). I mean this gets me incredibly upset and I'm old enough to understand that none of this stuff is real. You work pretty hard to collect neo points to get nice items for your pets and then they just get taken away.

I have found that other than being at work (which I actually play there a lot too) I am constantly on Neopets. There is just more and more to learn on this site every day. They are always adding new games and different items to collect. I have noticed that people of all ages play Neopets also, sometimes its moms, some times its college students (that's me), sometimes it's the little kids. It really is a lot of fun for everyone.

Pet Choices:
-Bori: This guy looks kind of like an armadillo
-Ruki: This one looks like a praying mantis
-Yurble: You guessed it, it looks kind of like a gerble
-Ixi: One of my personal favorites, I think this guy looks a bit like an evil goat
-Draik: This is my favorite Neopet, but it is almost impossible to get one. To get a Draik, you have to buy a Draik egg (5-6 million Neopoints), take it to the draik nest and hatch it. This Neopet looks like a cute dragon
-Tonu: This guy looks like a rhinosorus crossed with a lion. This one is limited edition too, but there are no secret tricks to get this one (that I know of)
-Krawk: These are ugly aligator looking critters that are also limited edition. To get a Krawk, you have to buy a Krawk Petpet and let it eat slime off of a wall.
-Elephante: This is a cute little elephant with wings
-Meerca: This is another of my favorites, I'm not sure what kind of real animal it resembles. It looks like a ball with a long tail.
-Wocky: This Neopet resembles a cat
-Tuskaninny: This guy looks kind of like a seal, not my personal favorite.
-Mynci: Most of us would refer to as a monkey
-Kau: Otherwise known as just a cow, but this Neopet is so much cuter than your average cow.
-Jetsam: Limited edition shark that I have no idea how to get.
-Grundo: This is a fairly ugly alien. You can get one by going to the space station and adopting one.
-Usul: A squirl with big ears.
-Chomby: Looks like a long necked dinosaur. This is a limited edition that you can't sneak your way around.
-Flotsam: Ugly dolphin with a horn
-Skeith: Think gargoyle.
-Acara: I think it is supposed to be like a cat, a really ugly cat.
-Techo: A geiko.
-Cybunny: Limited edition adorable bunny. You have to get a morphing potion to get one.
-Kiko: Limited edition ball with one curly hair and a bandaide on it.
-Aisha: One of the best cat choices.
-Moehog: Looks like a boar.
-Gelert: A really adorable dog, this is one of my new favorites.
-Uni: Unicorn with wings.
-Koi: Limited edition fish.
-Pteri: A fairly ugly bird.
-Blumaroo: This kind of reminds me of Gonzo from Muppet Babbies because it has this long turned down nose. Overall, this is an ugly Neopet.
-Poogle: This looks like a cat too.
-Peophin: A cross between a real horse and a sea horse.
-Quiggle: Ugly little frog.
-Scorchio: Dragon with wings.
-Shoyru: A pretty dinosaur with wings.
-Kougra: Looks like a tiger.
-Eyrie: This looks like a really ugly bird.
-Kacheek: Another one that resembles a cat.
-Bruce: A penguin with a bow around his neck.
-Chia: A really ugly little blob.
-Nimmo: A cuter frog than a quiggle.
-Zafara: A cute whatever it is. Who could resist its big blue eyes?
-Grarrl: T-Rex.
-Lenny: Ugly bird.
-Korbat: An adorable little bat.
-Buzz: A hornet.
-Lupe: A wolf.
-JubJub: A ball of fur with really big feet.
-Kyrii: I don't know what this is supposed to be either, it looks like some kind of mean little critter with an Elvis hair-do.
