Pros: Low profile, works right out of the box. Detachable power and signal cables.
Cons: Annoying ultra-bright blue light on front panel that can't be shut off without unplugging.
The Bottom Line: Definitely worth a try if you're less than 10 miles from DTV towers. I'm going to keep mine. Of course, OTA-HDTV success depends on more than just a good antenna.

| ajs99's Full Review: JENSEN LOW PROF ANTENNA TV-920 |
I wanted to get OTA HDTV reception (via Sylvania SRZ3000 set-top box), but only if I didn't have to mount an outdoor antenna and/or adjust the antenna every time I changed the channel. I live between 7 and 10 miles from all the stations I was hoping to pull in. (Note: if you go to www.antennaweb.org you can input your address and be able to see the distance and direction of the DTV transmission towers in your area.)
Saw the TV-920 at Radio Shack among a number of aesthetically challenged UHF loop/VHF rabbit-ears antennas. Decided to buy this model because: a) it had a low profile to unobtrusively sit on top of the TV wall unit, b) was amplified, and c) was on sale.
Brought it home, connected it to the TV, plugged it in, cranked the gain control to maximum, and instantly had access to 5 OTA digital channels (7 if you count the 2 additional multi-cast channels for the local NBC affiliate.)
Still playing with the orientation of the antenna to lock in the strongest signals for 2 additional channels while not losing the good signals on the existing channels.
The good:
1. Very happy with the performance. 80%+ signal on most stations.
2. Can get most stations without reorienting the antenna.
3. Signal cable not hard-wired to the back of the unit, so I was able to replace it with a longer cable.
4. Power cord detaches from the unit for greater flexibility in setting up and moving the unit.
5. Unobtrusive design.
The not so good:
1. There is a VERY bright blue light on the front of the unit that glows whenever the unit is plugged in. No way to shut it off.
2. The orientation of the antenna that gives the best reception is jutting out at a 90-degree angle from the corner of the TV wall unit.
So, to maintain the low-profile benefit, I have to unplug the power cord from the back of the unit (see, it comes in handy) and move the unit to a sub-optimal position. Seems to be a minor annoyance I can live with, considering it does what I need it to do at an acceptable price point.
