Pros: Cleans like Magic Eraser
Cons: Large crumbs, tears easily.
The Bottom Line: I far prefer Magic Eraser to Easy Erasing Pad for amount of foam, amount of crumbling, and tearing of the Pad.

I really like the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser with a couple of exceptions. I wanted something to hold it and I don't like the "crumbs" it produces when cleaning. I ran across Scotch-Brite Easy Erasing Pad at Wal-Mart and quickly placed it in the cart. The package showed a blue side which the box claimed provides a comfortable handle and helps the pad keep its shape. For less than $3, sold!
Packaging
Two pads come in the green Scotch-Brite box by 3M. Easy Erasing Pad is written across and three pictures of cleaning tasks (crayon on a wall, finger prints on a refrigerator, and soap scum on tile). Measurements for the sponge are listed as 5.0 in x 3.0 in x 1.2 in. When I placed the Magic Eraser next to it, there is little difference in size except half the Scotch-Brite is the blue sponge handle. Hmmm, hope it works better.
Claims from the box:
...easily erases away marks and most dried-on messes without the need for sprays or cleaners - just use water.
*Ideal on crayon and marker.
*Erase away scuff marks and smudges from walls, doors, and floors.
*Easily remove soap scum and hard water spots.
White side erases away those hard-to-clean stains, marks, scuffs and dried-on messes.
Directions from the box:
Simply Moisten with water and gently rub over area to be cleaned.
1) Wet it. Rinse under tap water and squeeze out excess.
2) Wipe it. Using WHITE SIDE of pad, gently erase away marks and stains. May use blue side to wipe away any residue.
3) Done. Discard pad AFTER MULTIPLE USES when white foam has worn away.
There are picture directions as well, but they are a little confusing if you don't have the written with it.
Caution from the box:
The Erasing Pad is a very effective cleaning tool which may dull glossy plastic or other soft surfaces, and may change the appearance of some painted surfaces. Test first in an inconspicuous area using light pressure. Rinse dishes thoroughly if used for dishwashing. Do not use with bleach. Not recommended for aquariums.
My experience
I first used it in the kitchen. It worked well at removing marks and stains from cabinets, the refrigerator handle, and the wall paper. The performance was similar to Magic Eraser. I found a bit of crayon mark left on a wall from Lauren and this disappeared as well. I did not have any marks from markers and wasn't about to experiment. It worked on soap scum as well.
As with the Magic Eraser, it will crumble as you use it. I found the Scotch-Brite crumbled in much larger pieces and seemed to tear in sections off the blue sponge. I used more of the Scotch-Brite Pad on less stuff than the magic Eraser. The blue sponge was handy in wiping up the crumbs left behind.
I thought I would really like the blue sponge as a handle. I found that it kept my hands off the foam more, I still cam in contact with the foam and I think it caused the foam to tear more readily because it couldn't conform to the positions I put it in when cleaning. So all in all I love the idea of the handle, but for less cleaning foam, and not having an effective handle, I would say pass this one up. I will stick with the Magic Eraser and wear gloves if it is a large project.
