Pros: Loads of functions and effects, All you need from a camera for a beginners price
Cons: no optical zoom, mjpeg movies useless, batteries go fast unless you get NiMH
The Bottom Line: It is a great camera for someone just starting out with no experience in digital photography. Would not recommend it if you take a lot of pictures.

| mswangler91's Full Review: Canon PowerShot A200 Digital Camera |
I bought the camera about a year ago. It was my first digital camera. Over all it is a good camera for 2.0 mega pixels. I bought the camera when I purchased my Dell computer; it was part of the package. The quality of the photos is very good when printed out. After using the camera, I will never go back to a film camera again. If you don't like the photo you just took you can delete it easily and take a new one. It is so convenient. No more bad shots. It is great for taking still photos, however it is not really good at taking action shots. The camera is a little tricky. When you push down the button it will usually take about 5 seconds before it actually takes the picture. I have tried and tried to figure out why it does this but was told by others that have the same camera that it is a common problem that plaques most of the Canon digital cameras. So if you do not plan to take action photos this is a great camera for the price. It has several features such as ability to take black & white, sepia and panoramic. There are more things about the camera that I like than I things that I hate. This camera is all a beginner would need and a little more. The camera is set out in a way that it is quite easy to work out the buttons without having to spend hours reading the manual. It is a nice size, the resolution is very clear, and the wide range of photo effects enhances the entertainment value. It has manual and automatic functions, also has panoramic function for landscapes. The shutter lag can be a bit slow at times, but other than that all is well. If it did not come with part of my computer package I probably would not have chosen this particular camera but for the value I am pretty pleased.
