Let's Go Europe, the best guide for Beginners

Written: Mar 24 '01
Pros:An excellent resource for navigating your way through Europe safely
Cons:Since this book is popular, hostels and hotels in this book may be filled
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't travel anywhere unfamiliar without this book. It can help you when in a sticky situation and also save you tons of money.

This book has a very unique name, and that is the Backpackers Bible. The reason for this is that it has helped so many people throughout their travels. I have used it while in Europe and it offers a great guide to cities and towns. Not only does it tell you where to stay in many different cities and towns in many different countries, but it also tells you about the history, places to eat and drink, places to party and things to see. Some times it is fun to just arrive in a town and find your own place to stay but it is even more fun knowing that if something goes wrong you always have this book to refer to in order to find housing or a place to eat. It also offers conversion rates for not only the currency but also the temperature and measurements. Seeing as we are the only country not on the metric system this can prove to be very helpful. It also gives you a the translation of some common words you can use while visiting these exciting countries. I used the Let's Go Europe 2000 but currently the new 2001 book is out and it offers even more information than before. It is nice because it holds a lot of valuable information and is that that big. I would advice checking this book out if you are planning a trip to Europe, or anywhere for that matter. Let's Go offers resources for many countries on many different continents.
