Pros: Clean rooms, strong & plentiful drinks with the all inclusive plan, fairly cheap
Cons: Slightly slow and rude service compared to the US
The Bottom Line: We certainly had a great time. Get the all inclusive plan if you go.

| johnluff's Full Review: Radisson Cable Beach Casino and Golf Resort |
So, my main job for the wedding was to arrange a honeymoon. While not being too strapped for cash, I wanted to keep things sensible. Someone suggested the Bahamas since it is close to the US to make flights and jet lag easy. I considered Sandals and Atalantic but dismissed both when I came across the Radisson.
For close to half the price, I could get an all inclusive stay at the Radisson. If you choose to stay here, GET THE ALL INCLUSIVE deal. It costs more of course, but being able to have 4 course meals and drink until you can hardly stand without ever having to reach for your wallet is just too good a deal to miss! You really will save money over the length of the stay, since this includes ALL meals and ALL drinks.
Upon arrival we go upgraded to a full ocean view room and got a bottle of champagne once we "mentioned" (blatantly stated) we were on our honeymoon. This was certainly a nice way to start the vacation.
The room we had was nothing special, but nice and clean with nothing to complain about. The rooms have US cable TV which is nice too. The balcony was large, and as promised had a great view of the ocean. I would not recommend getting a ground floor room since you end up right by the pool with no privacy. The people down there never seemed to open there curtains.
First trick at this place is to make restaurant reservations. They book up fast, and on the first day we ended up in the Bimini Grill which has a buffet - although this was still pretty good. You can book up to three nights ahead and I would recommend this if you want to eat at reasonable times (not 5:30PM or 9:00PM). This is my quick run down of the restaurants:
Amicis - Italian. Nice. Chicken on spinach was good.
Islands - Steak and Mediterranen food. Okay, not great. Don't get the sushi - only 8 pieces of fauirly poor sushi. And if you don't have all inclusuve, a completed rip off at $28! (I've been to a couple of nice restaurants in my time - and that's ridiculous!).
Avacados - Mediterranen food. Recommend the conch cakes. Steak was over done considering I asked for it to be rare, but I'm nit-picking slightly.
Forge - Steak house. Here you share your table with other people and grill you own food. I actually had a great time, but I can imagine if you get stuck with annoying people it would not be very good.
Dolphin Grill -Lunch. Would recommend the Tuscan Chicken pannini.
There is a bar by the pool, although this closes at 6:00PM. They also have a couple more inside that open until 1:45AM. They also have some good entertainment at night with live music and a comedian on one night.
The drinks were STRONG. And they always used top shelf liquer which was very good. After a while though, I had to tell them to put less rum in some of my drinks. If you you into strong beers like me, you will be a little disappointed since they also seemed to be offering Bud and a local beer called Kalik which appeared to tastes exactly the same to me!
As far as service goes, I have seen a far bit of criticism about that on this website and I think that's a little unfair. I don't want to sound out of line, but I think it's a little ignorant of people to expect the exact same level of service they have in the US. The Bahamas is a DIFFERENT country after all! Having grown up in Europe for 20 years, I found the service to be comparable with what I'm used to over there. So while I have to admit to being a little annoyed myself on occasion with slow and slightly rude service sometimes, I think you just have to be aware of your surroundings sometimes...
The level of housekeeping was excellent, to a point where I was actually getting a little annoyed with always finding a cleaner in my room! Still, can't really complain about that.
The beach they have is excellent and very clean. They have kayaks and snorkels that you can use for free. I would really recommend snorkelling by the rocks - you can see a lot of sea life here. You can also borrow beack towels for the day for nothing, so don't bother taking any if you are low on room in your cases.
There is a bus that can take you into the center of Nassau for $1 each way and appeared to stop outside the hotel and in town every few seconds! We literally NEVER had to wait for a bus.
Talking of buses, the all inclusive deal also includes airport transfers.
Overall, we had a great time and I would definitely consider going back again if I have the time and the means.
