Powertel is one of the largest GSm service providers in the southeast with a large footprint that covers portion of 12 states, north Florida, georgia, alabama, tennesse, kentucky, portions of south carolina, indiana, illinois, missouri, arkansas,mississippi and louisiana. with the GSM service you enjoy a greater security that with standard digital and much clearer conversations. the large selection of handsets to go with the service from the Nokia to ericcson and motorola models gives you enough choices to please any taste. The rate plans start at 20.00 a month for 100 minutes, or with a one year service agreement the same 20.00 a month will give you 100 anytime minutes and 1000 weekend minutes. The plan most advertised at this time is the Bonus weekend 40 plan which includes 600 anytime minutes 3000 weekends with free nationwide long distance. As a new customer you will receive a $50.00 handset credit on your second bill to cover the purchase of a new SIM/GSM compatible handset. the coverage area grows everyday, with the GSM towers targeted at first at the main interstates they are now fanning out to cover most smaller roads as well. With the new aquistion of Digiph the calling area and footprint will increase, in a few months the Powertel name will be gone as the mergers continue and powertel merges with Voice stream, increasing the calling area to most of the United States.
At this time, there are great benefits, you can change your rate plan at any time with no penalties for changing. There is 24 hour award winning customer service. With all the options and features, the many offering of rate plans, from the ones mentioned above to the 50 state rate plans which give free roaming in the united states there is something for everyone. With the great coverage and great service you wont be disappointed.
