Beware YellowBeePhoto.com!!! (Reply to this comment)

Thank you so much, dkozin, for your sage advice on beware the ripoff!

Last night I tried to buy a Canon Elura 100 digital camcorder from YellowBeePhoto.com. The advertised price was $222.00. Today, I receive an email asking me to call to "confirm" my billing information. Yeah, right. The sales rep says there was "a typo" on the website, and the true price is $349.00! Then he wants to help me out by offering me a "discount" on a battery! Sheesh! The game was played just as you said it would be. So of course, I confirmed his name and told him to cancel the sale.

Is there a business bureau I can report them to? Does the FTC take an interest in these internet ripoff scams?

Do not order from this company. They will rip you off. If you place an order, they will make it almost impossible to cancel the order and if you try to return the merchandise they will not give you the return authorization without you signing an agreement to LOSE a percentage of the purchase approx. 20 percent of the purchase price. It is GREY market merchandise. They are not authorized dealer on most merchandise. Beware.

I just had the "bait and switch" done to me by zerodelivery.com. Their site said that all of their products were new with US warranties but after I said no to all of the salesmen's offers of accesories he told me the only ones they had in stock were gray market with no US warranty. I cancelled and bought from 800.com. 800.com will price match other authorized internet dealers. There is a list on there website. They listed the camcorder I wanted at $808.00 with shipping then I would get a $75.00 gift certificate. They price matched vanns.com and I got it for $588.00, no $75 certificate.

I made a careful online purchase after reading this article. A few hours later the company called me up and asked " Do you need anything else?" I said no. "bit do you know that the battery that you bought only last you 20 minutes?"
I couldn't help it but exclaimed "YEAH! THAT'S THE COMMON TRICK!" and told them I didn't care.

This is a common "bait and switch" technique! There is give and take when buying on-line or when buying international warranty products.

When you buy locally, you are buying live technical assistance and will be reassured the dealer where you bought the equipment will stock and carry accessories as you need them.

I'd rather buy locally than on the Net or grey market products.

Remember this, "you get what you pay for".
