Pros: Great battery life
Cons: Hard to read display, inconvenient volume control, illogical menu structure
The Bottom Line: Avoid like the plague. Display is hard to read and buttons are too small. Wish there was a zero star rating.

| ramblinwreck67's Full Review: Nokia 6340i |
I took advantage of Cingular's free upgrade offer and got this phone. I wish I had my older Nokia 5160 back. While the 63401 has great battery life the display is unreadable in a vehicle in bright sunlight. One side or the other of the display is always in shadow and the screen illumination is inadequate. Also I have the ringer set to maximum volume and often it is not heard above ambient noise. For some reason, Nokia decided that more buttons was a better idea. I have to disagree. Also by adding more buttons, they had to make them smaller which makes the phone more difficult to use.
On the 5160, I could use the up arrow to access the 10 most recently dialed numbers which were the ones I used most and found this feature very handy. Guess what, the 6340i doesn't work that way. To access recently dialed numbers, you have to go through several layers of menus.
The receiver volume control is on the side of the phone and it is almost impossible to use the phone without disturbing the volume setting.
One of my son's friends has this same phone and she also hates it.
This will be my last Nokia phone unless there are major improvements to the display and ease of operating.
