Pros: Small, Attaches to Steering Wheel, Ergonomic
Cons: Needs line of site, shoddy mount and strap
The Bottom Line: If you can find it for under $15, buy it and slap it on the wheel. Otherwise, use your stock remote.

| Sarv's Full Review: Pioneer Steering Wheel Remote Control CD-SR80 |
I purchased this to use with my Pioneer car stereo, since it was conveniently attached to the steering wheel. While the deck came with a remote, I was always losing it, and having it at my fingertips was great.
The Good
It is a remote, and does as such, replacing the stock remote in all functions. You have the regular controls on front, such as Audio controls, Search and Scan, Function and Mute. On the back I really enjoyed finding the volume button, where I could use my trigger finger to adjust the levels; it was quite ergonomic.
The Bad
The strap that is comes with wears out over time, or at least mine did. And from the beginning, the mount was never firmly in place, so that when you slipped the remote in, it would lock in. Rarely did this happen. It didn't fall out, but it sometimes seemed that it would.
Also, depending on where you place it, it may or may not work. Since I had Cruise Control on the side nearest the CD player, the Pioneer Remote needed to be placed on the far side of the steering wheel, and from time to time, if it didn't have a clear shot of the cd player, it would not work. That was quite a pain when the volume was needed to be turned down quickly.
Overall Opinion
For the price I paid, it was a great deal, and I could live with it's faults. Paying any more than $10 - $15 is paying too much, and I'd just live with the remote that comes with your stereo, or purchase a handheld remote if you need one.
