Socket 7 may be a good cheap solution for simple computing needs. If someone can benefit from it's use, it is not obsolete.

Thanks for the information. Very useful on upgrading chips and ram on the old socket 7 boards. I still have an old PI 200 MMX that my 86-year-old great aunt is using to surf the net. And it's still not too slow at rendering smallish 3D cad files either.

No, not the socket 7 boards but the Super socket 7 boards can... as I stated in the review.
