Christmas Movies -missed! (Reply to this comment)
by mudfinger
First of all...Benico(sic)Del Toro is the cabdriver/Ghost of Christmas past in Scrooged? That's David Johansen (sometimes known as "Buster Poindexter")
Of all the "A Christmas Carol" films you chose the 'muppet'one? It's cute but, it hardly measures up to the fantastic "George C. Scott" version done for CBS in the 80's
My favorite Christmas movie, and one of the very best is " The Homecoming- A Christmas Story 1971- which was the film that begat the "Waltons" series. It was not intentionally the pilot for that series , but it turned out to be. It features wonderful performances by Patricia Neal, and Richard Thomas.
And How could you forget "A Christmas Story" Jean Sheperd's wonderful story of childhood obsession. Yes it's on all the time and WTBS plays it for 24 hours straight on Christmas eve/day but it doesn't mean it's not one of the best!

Similar to my top ten, except two. (Reply to this comment)

Your top ten list is very similar to mine. I only disagree with your number 10, "All I want for Christmas", in my list is "A Christmas Carol" with Alistair Sim. It is a classic and a favorite. And your number 2 "Santa Clause" in my list is "A Christmas Story" because it is quite possibly one of the best ever Christmas shows. I thought Santa Clause was horribly cheesy, but in case you were wondering they are filming a part two to that movie right by my house as I write this.
