| tm2go's Full Review: T-Mobile Phone Service in Philadelphia |
I have been a T-Mobile customer since their Voicestream days. Never a problem with the phone, coverage, or service. Now, with 2 teenaged drivers, we needed an economical family plan that would provide unlimited calls to each other without being charged for minutes, as well as national/no roaming coverage to stay in touch with out-of-state family members. After doing careful cost-comparison and features research, I narrowed my selections to AT&T and T-Mobile. While the comparable AT&T plan offers 50 more free minutes each month than T-Mobile, you are locked in to a 2-year contract as opposed to one year for T-Mobile. Having had great service with T-Mobile, we decided to go with their Family Plan with 400 shared minutes, $49.99/month which includes 2 phone lines, and each additional phone line $10.00. Our older son was eager to get in on this since he had been paying $39.99 monthly for AT&T (it's tough being 19 yrs. old with no credit). So he just saved himself twenty bucks being added on to our plan, and was able to add text messaging for himself only. I can monitor total minutes usage online or by phone. A pleasant surprise was their $25 referral bonus. About 2 weeks after we opted for our plan, one of my co-workers said she was beginning her quest for a suitable Family plan. I suggested that she check out T-Mobile, and when she purchased her plan the sales rep asked her if someone had referred her. She gave them the name of our account/phone number and said I should expect to see a $25 credit on our next bill.
