best value mid size car!

Pros: quiet ride,comfortable interior, near accord or camry for 3000 to 4000 less.

Cons: ABS should be standard. poor resale value. (but that will change)

The Bottom Line: The sonata gls v6 is a great value and a great car regardless. Hyundai is not building cheap cars anymore just solid value.

My wife and I love our new sonata gls.
We were looking for a new mid size car to replace her aging
90 toyota 4runner.
Her sister owned an excel that she drove to death.
She changed the oil about every 15,000 miles if then and the
car never gave a minutes trouble.
The car looked bad cosmeticaly but still ran great with
200,000 miles when she traded it in on a new accent.
Because of her sisters experience we gave hyundai a try.
Ive owned toyotas and nissans in the past and they have been
very reliable.
I think this sonata will be also.
The car is very quiet cruising on the highway and the seats
are comfortable.
The interior is well layed out and the materials and fit and finish is
equal to a friends honda crv.
The v6 engine is not as powerfull as the competition but
is more than adequate.
Unless you want to race v6 altimas and accords stoplight to stoplight dont be concerned about the lesser horsepower.
The sonata gls is a lot nicer than I expected for the money.
We live in a rural area and most of our driving is highway.
With only 1500 miles on the car were getting 27 mpg with the
air conditioning on.
To all the folks out there that do there own routine maintenance the oil filter is easy to get to on the v6 and
should be a breeze to change the oil.
The owners manual reccomends the dealer change the spark
plugs because the intake plenum has to be removed for rear
spark plug access on the v6 engine.
At least they install platinum plugs so youll be good for 100,00 miles.
We bought the sonata because of what you get for your money
compared to toyota,nissan and honda.
The sonata looks,drives and has equal build quality to the
others and cost considerably less.
I personally feel the car will also be as reliable long term
as the others.
Folks, get over the name and check one out for your self.
