About Me: If I was writing for my dinner, I'd be a heck of a lot thinner.

Outstanding display quality!

Pros:Outstanding quality
Cons:Pricier than other monitors
The Bottom Line: A little expensive, but the excellent display quality is worth it.

I bought this 19" monitor for use with my home PC and I was so knocked out by the quality of it that I asked my boss to buy me the same exact monitor for work.

This 19" monitor uses Sony's famous Trinitron technology. The screen is amazingly flat. Text and graphics are razor-sharp and colors look fantastic. Note: Like all aperture grill monitors (Trinitron, Diamondtron, etc...), there are two faint horizontal lines running across the display. All aperture grill monitors have these so don't be alarmed. It's just the wires that hold the aperture grill in place. At first it might bother you if you're not accustomed to this type of monitor, but you quickly learn to filter them out and they're usually only apparent on screens with light-colored backgrounds.

This monitor has a relatively small footprint because the neck is short. There is support for a wide range of resolutions and refresh rates. I run mine at 1024x768, but you can go to 1280x1024 with no problems (if you can see anything when it's that small :-)

Another nice feature is that is has two inputs. One regular DSUB connector (the usual PC VGA connector) and BNC connectors. This means you can hook 2 computers up to this monitor and switch between them. The monitor has a feature where it can auto-detect which set of inputs to use as well.

Another one of my favorite features is the "ASC" button. It's "Auto Size and Center" and it does a great job of setting the monitor up for whatever video mode you're in. I didn't have to do any manual tweaking of the size and position!

I love this monitor. It was a little on the expensive side, but aren't your eyes worth it?

Another monitor that I like is the Viewsonic GS790. I use this one at work now. It's very nice too, but I think I like the Sony a bit better because of the features and the smaller footprint.
