Why pay for a name?May 14, 2001 Write an essay on this topic.

The Bottom Line Go with costs, the ingredients are basically the same, storebrand is a good way to go.
That's basically what you do everytime you buy Enfamil over storebrand. I can say this with complete honesty as I have 5 chidren, (4 boys and 1 daughter). One daughter is only 3 months old so she drinks a lot of formula, and let my say this if you take the two cans 1 namebrand and 1 storebrand and hold them up side by side and read the ingredients and the RDA's you will see that they are essentially the same. So why would you want to pay a considerable amount more just for a name when no matter which brand, unless specially designed for premature infants or infants with special feeding needs, regular formula is all the same in the bottle and that baby could care less what name is on it. If you are lucky you can get WIC they will pay for the formula for you and you can get Enfamil or Isomil, but still if you aren't lucky enough to get WIC then you have to foot the bill yourself and it can get pretty costly. So why not save some money and just buy store brand, only you and your pocket book will know which brand you bought. |
