Pros:Proximity/shuttle to EDI, cancellation policy, no required 2-night stay on weekends
Cons:Pricey restaurant (and a not-so-good exchange rate at the time of our travels)
The Bottom Line: While this hotel was a clean stay, I would only stay here due to flight times at EDI. It is a ride to the city, which can be congested.
My husband and I enjoyed our June trip to Scotland and London. The trip was broken into two parts: 4 nights in Scotland, flight EDI-LHR, then 2 nights in London.

Location:
The Quality Hotel Edinburgh Airport is obviously next to the airport area with a free shuttle. Because we were only at this property from about 7:00PM until 5:30 AM, we heard no airport noise. There were restaurants near the area, but quite a walk that we would not do.
Transportation:
We had spent the first three nights in other locations around Scotland. For our final night, however, we decided to stay next to the airport since we had a 6:45 AM flight on Sunday morning. Also, the weekend we were in Edinburgh was quite busy with a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert as well as the Edinburgh marathon, so staying next to the airport kept us from having to deal with closed roads, traffic, etc.
We spent Saturday sightseeing around the Edinburgh castle, keeping our backpacks with us. We took the Airlink bus back to the airport (from it's first stop downtown), phoned Quality Hotel from the small, discreet white courtesy phone (no big boards of hotel advertisements like we see here in the States), and a van/driver arrived in ten minutes. We had found it to be cheapest to use AirLink and the hotel's free shuttle to get back to the airport area hotels.
Reservations:
We had actually reserved this hotel prior to leaving the States due to their cancellation policy. Being a Saturday night, most accommodations required a two-night stay on weekends, but not this one. Also, their cancellation policy was 16:00 the day of arrival, so if we had modified our travel plans once in Scotland, we had plenty of time to cancel. This hotel was showing "full" on the hotel's website when attempting to make a reservation, but we were able to secure a reservation through a separate, online booking site.
Price:
Up until this point, each of our accommodations had cost a total of 52-60 GBP each night. However, we had booked this hotel in dollars prior to leaving the US, which came to $175 through a separate online booking site. This is the most money we have ever spent on an accommodation, which is mostly due to the exchange rate of the US Dollar and GBP at the time of our travels. We would have easily paid the rate in US Dollars, but when converted from GBP, our rate was basically doubled. For this type hotel and location, I would normally pay under $75 in the US.
Check-in:
Check-in on Saturday evening was smooth and efficient. We requested transportation to the airport for the following morning at 5:30 AM.
Room:
I believe we had an executive room versus a standard room. This meant we had a bathtub and heated towel rail in the bathroom, along with other amenities we probably didn't notice or use. However, we definitely noticed having a bathtub (versus shower) as well as a heated towel rail. The room was nice, and had sheets on the bed (some accomodations we stayed in provided only a fitted sheet with no flat sheet between your body and the repeatedly-used comforter). Our view from the window was of the end of the airport's runway.
Hotel:
The hotel had an elevator (slow) but stairs would have sufficed since there were very few floors. We had dinner in the lounge area (pasta for me and a sandwich for hubby) and the prices were reasonable. However, the prices in their restaurant started at about 13 GBP per entrée. We ordered water to drink, which the bartender was nice about refilling our glasses when I took them to the bar.
Check-out:
Check-out was smooth and quick. We had requested a 5:30 shuttle for Sunday morning (6:45 flight) so we did not get to eat breakfast that was included in our cost (none was available or offered that early). Another couple joined us on the shuttle to the airport. Check-in was smooth on British Midland Airlines for our flight EDI-LHR.
