The Bottom Line If a kid blows his brains out, it is not because Eminem told him it was cool. It's because the kids a fruitcake.

This may be an old topic but I have to write my mind.(screwed up as it is and I blame Ozzy Ozbournes lyrics for this of course.)

There is no way in hell that any artist (or self proclaimed artist, as it may be) should be held responsible for there social influence on the mass public. I mean lets look back a bit here. Both the Beach Boys and The Beatles music influenced Charlie Manson. The Beach Boys sang of sand castles and hot rods while The Beatles sang about LSD influences being mind widening and newspaper taxis with plasticized men coming to take us away. The Beach Boy, Brain Wilson hung out with Chuckie and John Lennon didn't even know the man. Yet, Helter Skelter and " see how they run, like pigs from a gun." was written at the Chuckie day massacre. These were Beatles songs and lyrics. Who influenced happy Mr. Manson more, Brian Wilson a friend or John Lennon? The answer is moot because there is no way John would ever be held responsible for Chuckie Cheesebrains actions.

I suppose that some lyrics do have an effect on the public. I for one like TLC's lyrics for Waterfalls and Becks "I'm a loser." Even G.G Allens Needle in my Dyk has good lyrics.

The law has granted man freedom of speech. They may say and sing what they want. If your child is taught right and wrong, these lyrics will have little to no effect on them.

So let Jim Morrison sleep with his mother in his music and let black people say Nigaw and fawk all they want because lets face it the government will only kill them if they start preaching peace. Rest in peace John.
