Ahh another pop up, but wait this one is interesting. $9.99 a month for the book of my choice and free shipping!! That’s to good to be true, well I soon found out it wasn’t and was.
What’s Zooba??
Zooba is an online membership book club. They have large amounts of book to choose from. You save lots of money using them, its completely convenient, and you save loads of money.
How Does It Work?
In the beginning, you pay 9.99 (plus tax in PA, CT and NY) Once you pay this you are considered a member. With this initial payment of 9.99 you get one book shipped to you that you pick with no shipping charge. From then on you purchase any book on the website for the same 9.99 free shipping. You then create a reading list from the books they have available. Every month they will deduct 9.99 from your credit card and send you the next book on your reading list. You must get a book every month to keep your membership active. This is on top of the other books you purchase. So basically the 9.99 they detuct is your membership fee and you get a book along with that.
Why Do I like it?
I like it because of the convenience!! I don’t have to go to the bookstore anymore, no more finding a parking space, waiting in line. I can shop with no shipping fees and usually 25% off the retail price. I also like it because I can purchase books for my friends and family using my account, I just have it shipped to there address saving everyone time and money!
And of course you can always cancel!
Yeah but do they have the book I need?
That’s where it’s hard to decide, they have every book I have read before on the list (which doesn’t help me) but they have all the best sellers and classics. They have fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, Self help, children, etc. I have noticed they have more of the lesser known books like beach reading, mystery and less of the classics and best sellers.
Are there any Problems You have had?
Yes, this past month there was a problem, but nothing to big. My book was a couple of days late because my book was back ordered and they were having a problem putting my credit card through. The biggest problem was they never called to let me know that there was a problem not until I enquired did I know about this. Also the other thing I do not like about them is that they do not have any number you can Call, you have to communicate through email. There response time to my questions was around 24 hours, sometimes sooner. The Shipment could be faster. They say it should take 5-10 business days to get to you but it usually take about 15.
Overall I would recommend you go onto the Zooba website and check them out. If it turns out they have the books you were going to by in the bookstore or on Amazon and you can wait a week or two before getting it try Zooba out then. It will save you money and shipping costs!
