Pros: Can't think of a thing!
Cons: Bad products, Bad service, Bad management!
The Bottom Line: When I say every call costs big bucks that is because they get you coming and going! Stay as far away from this company as you can.

| noalltelno's Full Review: General Reviews of Alltel Customer Service |
As I sit on the phone, my home phone because my cell phone has stopped working the day after I received it, I am totally appalled at the recording I am listening to. "Making my service the best that it can be is simply the right thing to do." "We're the company that gets it right or makes it right." "Backing my service with a quality guarantee."
Yesterday I returned my cell phone to the service center which is 30 minutes from my home and was the third time in the last year I have had to visit there. All of these visits were to replace the poor quality phone that for a ridiculous amount of money I received when I signed my contract. My visit in July of 2003, I was so irate that I left the building and my husband completed the transaction. He may never live it down but he signed me up for another two years of torture in order to get me another phone at no cost. In April of 2004 I returned to the store in need of a replacement which I received after listening to their crap about "if we find the phone has been damaged by misuse we will send you a bill, and their pat response, I think there is moisture in here... I was given a new phone and left the store. Here we are again...It's July 27th and I was in the so called SERVICE center yesterday and explained that the phone just went blank while I was checking messages. OK we can replace that for you and that will be $50.00. I explained that I just received a new phone in March and it should still be under warranty. I was told that the warranty was on the original phone and did not apply to any phone after that 1st year. Don't remember hearing that when I didn't sign my contract! I was totally dumbfounded. Seems unethical. Their response is...thats the manufacturers policy. That's why you have insurance. But we are not responsible for that either. Can we pass the buck a few more times. Another couple was in the store replacing the same phone and we were discussing what a hassle it was to have to come in here to replace the phone. I had been refused service after waiting 45 minutes at a store in another community because I had not bought it there. The customer service person assisting them looked at me angrily and said the phones could be serviced or replaced at any location. Now I was being called a liar. I asked for the manager who had already left for the day. After much heated discussion mostly on my part, I think the girl waiting on me was a robot, I paid the $50.00 and left the store.
This morning I received a call from the manager of the store. He had heard all about the encounter. I explained my feelings on the matter and he reiterated their policy. I said I wanted to cancel my contract but would not pay a cancellation fee and was told I would have to call customer service to discuss that. I called customer service on my way home this afternoon. I was disconnected 3 times because the phone went dead or dropped the call. I did speak to a few people who at least acted like they understood my feelings but for the most part I spoke to robots with rehearsed answers. Concerning my $50.00 for insurance deductible they were not responsible for the cost, it was the insurance company, there was nothing they could do. I should talk to the manager where I picked up the phone. I asked for a manager and was refused one. Concerning canceling my service I said I would not accept charges for doing so since they guaranteed their service. They said their service guarantee was good for 5 days after purchasing the phone. I asked for a manager and was refused again. I asked to be reimbursed for 411 calls that were answered by people in India (I asked where they were talking to me from) who could not understand me and connected me to wrong numbers. I was told we have no directory assistance in India. They were not responsible for that either by the way because that was contracted out. I asked why I should pay for a phone that is obviously defective and they said that was not their responsibility the phones were purchased from an outside source. I asked just exactly what "they" were responsible for.... there was silence. Then I was told that the manager of the store where I picked up the phone had taken ownership of my account and that I would not be able to speak to another manager because that would be overriding his authority and I should call him. I said that he told me to call customer service. They told me that he did not put that in his notes so it was not the case and again I was refused a manager and again called a liar.
What will happen remains to be seen. You may see me sitting in front of the Alltel store tomorrow with many of these e-pinions blown up and taped to my vehicle.
