We all get lazy. Sometimes it can be just too tiring to cook, and if we are too lazy to cook, then we are probably too lazy to get in the car to go pick up food anywhere. That leaves the option of ordering pizza or not eating at all. And when we are incredibly lazy, picking up that phone and dialing a few numbers can be too much to handle. So let us all thank Pizza Hut for giving us lazy folk the option of clicking a few buttons to order our dinner.
It is so easy! After going to www.pizzahut.com, you then select Order Online. Then a quick registration process follows, where you give your zip code, address, etc. You use your e-mail address for your username and make a password. After your initial registration you can choose to store your username and password so you do not even have to enter that next time. Homer Simpson and Al Bundy would love how easy this is!
Now to the good stuff. You choose to pick up your pizza at the store or to have it delivered. Also here you can select to place an order for a future time or date. Pretty neat if you want your pizza in a few hours, but are going to be busy later. This option would be great for parties and such.
I always choose delivery. The site will even tell me when I made my last order and what it was. It gives the option of repeating that order, which is nice if you always order the same things.
To place a new order, you have several options. You can build your own pizza, where you select the size, crust, and toppings. Or one of Pizza Hut's specialty pizzas. Or you can search through the specials, which is what I do. Be sure to read through them all though, as I have found some of the same deals listed at different prices. Most of the specials have limited toppings and some are only on certain crust styles.
Pizza Hut's Specialty Pizzas
Cheese Lover's Plus pizza has lots of cheese and two toppings.
Chicken Supreme pizza comes with grilled chicken pieces, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers.
Meat Lover's pizza is loaded with pepperoni, beef, pork, Italian sausage, ham and bacon.
Supreme pizza has pepperoni, beef, pork, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers.
Pepperoni Lover's pizza is full of cheese and pepperoni.
Super Supreme pizza comes with ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, beef, pork, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and black olives.
Veggie Lover's pizza comes meat free with mushrooms, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, and black olives.
Pizza Hut offers numerous crust choices: Thin 'N Crispy, Pan, Hand-Tossed, Stuffed Crust, and Twisted Crust. I have yet to try the newer Twisted Crust, though it will be the next I order.
Topping choices of meats include pepperoni, pork, Italian sausage, anchovies, ham, beef, bacon and chicken. Other toppings available are mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, pineapple, green peppers, black olives, and Jalapenos. You can also choose to have extra sauce, no sauce, or less sauce on your pizza, as well as with the cheese.
Pizza Hut's Side Orders
Soda options are Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Mountain Dew, all available in two liters for $1.59.
Breadsticks can be had for $2.79 or $4.99 for a double order.
Cheese Sticks run $3.79 and $6.99 for the double order.
Cinnamon Breadsticks, my favorite, can be bought for $3.49 or a double order for $6.49.
Buffalo Wings can be had mild or hot and with ranch or blue cheese. Single orders are $5.99 and double orders are $10.99.
Salads run $2.99, with ranch or blue cheese dressing.
Extra dippings sauces and garlic butter can be order as well. Marinara and garlic butter is $0.49. Extra icing for the Cinnamon Breadsticks is $0.35.
After all you food selections are made, the checkout screen comes up. Here you can review your order for accuracy, confirm your address - you must check the box each time you order, and select how you are going to pay. Credit cards are accepted from Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Or you can choose to pay with cash, but they do not accept $50 or $100 bills. Your total is also given here, including tax and the $0.75 delivery charge. If everything is correct then you submit your order and another small screen pops up. This screen gives you the time your order was submitted and tells how long it will take to get your pizzas.
I have used pizzahut.com several times now. Ordering is a breeze and sometimes you can find great deals. The pages always load quickly. The delivery driver is on time, often even earlier than was stated. I think you have to order around $10 for delivery though, but our total is usually between $15 and $20, so I have never had a problem with this. My only complaint about the site would be the specials. You really have to read them all and read them carefully to find what you are looking for. We often find a deal on breadsticks and buffalo wings, something like $7.00 or $8.00 for both, which is a little cheaper. For those lazy nights, I do it Homer's way.
