Excellent overall text clarity, contrast, uniformity of illumination and color, wide viewing angle. Easy height adjustment and pivotabiliity, real pluses for portrait orientation for the bulk of computer use in word processing, internet browsing most of which is in portrait format. I have had the unit for about a year and it has performed flawlessly with no dead pixels. Customer support is readily accessible by phone and prompt email responses.
The adjustments are relatively intuitive, comprehensive, and quickly learned; however, this applies only to analogue connection. In the DVI connection, which does result in a modestly improved image over analogue, there is NO access to contrast adjustment, or color correction, either color temperature or by individual RGB sliders. This is a major negative if you are using this monitor for graphics work in DVI mode where you want to calibrate your monitor with an external spyder to setup a custom profile. Samsung does have a program called Natural Color which ships with the driver CD which allows creation of a profile, working similarly to Adobe Gamma, which is done just by eye, and is not anywhere nearly so accurate as with a spyder. On talking with tech support, this limitation is built into this monitor, and is not a necessary property of the DVI interface. In fact, I have seen monitors where color control is available in DVI mode, so if you plan to use this monitor for critical graphics work, do NOT buy this monitor unless you are content to operate it in analogue mode, or don't care about optimal color calibration.
