Pros: 25 pre-mositened wipes, pop-up container, water guard protectant
Cons: cannot use on floors, not for unsealed or unfinished wood
The Bottom Line: Dusting is so easy with this flip top canister that leaves a lemon fragrance throughout the house. This is easier than other brands with more wipes inside.

| bonniesayers's Full Review: Old English Furniture Wipes |
A couple of weeks ago while trolling through the aisles at Target I headed over to pick up another package of the Pledge Wipes when I noticed in the same area the canisters of Old English Furniture Wipes. The price was cheaper with more wipes inside the canister than the previous noted brand.
I did not need to hesitate another minute and placed a canister in my shopping cart. I cannot locate the receipt but recall the price is about a dollar less than the Pledge Wipes. Beside the price factor weighing in on the decision to switch to the Old English Furniture Wipes there is the convenience of the canister with the pull out of an individual wipe.
The next deciding issue is the storing of the canister versus the flimsy package of Pledge Wipes. I had a hard time remembering to keep that package in an upright position and every time the baby wipes container was removed from the same under the sink cabinet, that package would get knocked over or crushed.
The pre-moistened wipes are sealed in freshness with the open and snap shut lid, instead of a press and seal opening on the other package. These are all the reasons to make this purchase over the other brand. The next area to consider is how well they work and on what surfaces is this intended to clean and shine.
Old English Furniture Wipes protect and condition wood furniture, as well as cleaning and shining wall units, cabinets, marble, leather, vinyl, stainless steel, chrome, brass, plastic and plastic laminated surfaces. This formula contains natural lemon oil that is not overpowering in scent.
Honestly I had never used Old English polishes before, but I do intend on making further purchases of the Old English Furniture Wipes. The basic premise of these wipes is to open the lid, pull out a wipe and tear at the perforation, snap the yellow lid shut and stretch out the wipe to clean and dust. You can turn it over and use the other side before disposing of in the trash. This is not a flushable type wipe and should never be used on body parts or on floors. Your floor will be very slippery if you should not read the directions ahead of time.
The Old English Furniture Wipes work wonders on my computer, my printer, the desk, televisions, bookcases, lamps, radio, clocks, walls, outside of the fans, VCR, knick knacks and toys. This makes dusting an easy task for my nine-year old son. He has Lego toys that he has built and are displayed on a large lateral file cabinet. That cabinet and the toys get very dusty. He is able to clean them and take care of his areas with minimal supervision.
The microwave cart and video boxes get dusted quite regularly now. One Old English Furniture Wipes gets a good area clean and polished. There is no residue, no marks left on furniture. The dust and dirt do not stick to the wipe as much as the other one, so you are able to shake it and continue cleaning away.
These are not to be used on unfinished or unsealed wood. They may cause eye irritation as mentioned on the canister. This has not happened to me since I wash my hands after utilizing the Old English Furniture Wipes. The water guard protectant helps against future water stains and marks. I notice the shine more so on the dressers than the televisions, but I use baby powder regularly on my son in that room and also there are many fans blowing around in my house. The fans are cleaner with a fresher scent in all rooms.
The only real negative aspect of the Old English Furniture Wipes is that it is hard to tell how many you have left when looking inside the canister. I think I have a few remaining and will be stocking up tomorrow when I visit Target again.
Old English Furniture Wipes measure 7.5" x 10.5".
