It is difficult writing a review when a vehicle is new. With 3,600 miles on the odometer I can't say much about reliablility. However, I have never worried about a new vehicle as much as this one. What are all those clunks and weird noises? Why does it feel as if the transmission is slipping? What are those weird seat-of-the-pants feelings that make me question how well-built this truck actually is?
The truck starts and stops. It is relatively comfortable. When I turn a switch the thing being operated functions so, so far, all is okay.
Time will tell if I made the right choice in a vehicle. Having owned Toyotas the last 26 years I am used to maximum reliability. However, since I am seeking a very rural place to live I figured having an American vehicle would be best since parts and those who can work on Chevys are easier to find out in the boonies. Foreign models can be difficult to repair when far from the nearest dealer.
At least the price was right. A little over $20,000 for a 4x4 long bed with a 4.8L V8 and 4-speed overdrive auto tranny, towing package, air conditioning, limited-slip rearend and heavy duty suspension. It seems to be a lot of truck for the money. If it turns out to be reliable than I will be happy. If not, I may wish I would have stuck with Toyota.
