Pros: Rooms, bathrooms, food
Cons: smoky comps too stingy
The Bottom Line: If you like to gamble and cant get to vegas, this is probably the best you can do in ac.

| mirageman's Full Review: Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa |
I stayed at Borgata on Sunday night august 8. At around 530 pm the line to check in was so long that i checked my bag with the bell desk and gambled. By 730 the check in line only took 15 minutes or so. I had heard good things about the borgata--that it was a top notch hotel and that it had a reasonable number of the video poker games that i like in the casino (a jacks or better game with a payout of 9 for a full house and 6 for a flush).
Because this was my first visit there, i had to pay full price for the room although they upgraded me to a semi suite rm 854 or 6 at the end of the hall with a terrific view. I had tried to get my host at bellagio to call them but there is no formal tie between the two casinos even though MGM owns all of Bellagio and is a 50% shareholder in Borgata. The room was wonderful with a HUGE bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable. However i tried running a bath in the morning and after 15 minutes the water was still too low. I called the front desk and they just said the water flow was slow all over. I think in a grand luxe hotel, they should have been more responsive. Bottom line though, room was great.
I haven't been to any other casino in ac, so i cant compare them. But to me, Borgata was too noisy and stunk of stale smoke. Need to improve circulation and clean your air filters more often folks.
I joined their slot club and always put my card in the video poker machines to track my play and accrue comp and slot dollars. What is irritating is that the points don't show up immediately and no one would tell me how much coin in i needed to get a free or cheaper room. Also when i called the casino later i was appalled by the little amount of comp dollars i had earned (8) since i figureed i had put through about 3-4 thousand dollars in just a few hours and ended up losing $400.
I ate the buffet for breakfast, tasty breakfast fare but nothing like the exotic varities at bellagio. NOW, the noodle restaurant in the casino was reasonably priced and quite good.
Unless i get some great offers through the mail, i think i will take the 4.5 hour flight to las vegas rather than drive the 3.5 hours to ac. The las vegas hilton is happy to comp me a small suite and a bunch of meals and their video poker selection at least for now is better.
From what i gather about other places in ac, this is the place to be.
