Pros:Excellent value, reliable manufacturer
Cons:Ink jet ink can get expensive if you actually use your printer.
The Bottom Line: This is a good deal. If you're looking for an all-in-one, definitely consider this model. Its a good all around printer.
I have had several Lexmark Printers, and all of them have been reasonably good. This one is definitely the coolest though. It has some fantastic features that have really proven to be useful. For instance, its great to have a copy machine at home. With this printer-scanner combination, you just place the item to be copied into the scanner and press the color or black and white copy button, and voila...you'll have a decent copy in a few moments.
Print quality is very good, and the speed is acceptable. I've printed hundreds of pages with this machine and its been good every time. Ink is still relatively expensive at $20 for the black and white, but that's still cheaper than other brands.
The features of the software it comes with are good. There are alot of print options in a friendly to use dialog box. The scanner software is also quite good. If you have a fax-modem in your computer, then you can use the fax features of the system. Basically it just scans your document and then faxes it through your computer's modem. The system comes with ABBYY Finereader OCR software to convert scans back to text. I am very impressed with the software. There are few minor quirks to it, but overall, it works great. Really surprisingly great.
