Thank you for the additional information! I like the looks of this light. Like you, I have reservations about the hinge. I once owned a calculator that had a hinged display on the keypad, and opening and closing the display eventually broke the connectors between the two pieces.
I'm going to check out Ott lights. Hmmmm ... maybe it's time to start my Christmas list!
Enjoy a wonderful day,
Dawn

Hi!
Sorry I forgot to mention both the price (around 60 dollars at Staples however can be found online for as low as 34 or so) and yes, it is a plugged light not battery operated! Sorry guys! Thanks for the comments!

I've been thinking of purchasing an Ott light. Great review. I'm wondering how much this desk light cost you.
Thanks!

I really enjoyed reading this and wish I had one of these.
One question, though. Does this plug into a wall socket or does it have batteries? It doesn't show in the picture and I was curious because you mentioned it is a good portable lamp.
Probably it would be good to mention this in the review to make it even more helpful and complete.
Thanks,
Lorace
(If I missed it somewhere, please excuse me, the lighting is bad here. lol)
