| caithnessfan's Full Review: 3M Lint Roller |
I have a few items of clothing that fall into the "dress clothes" category and when I wear them, I like to have them in good order.
Several months ago, I was "baby sitting" for a friend while she was out of town. The "baby" in question was an 11 month old malamute named Charlie.
He had a FULL coat and was in the process of losing his summer coat and growing in his winter coat.
I tried to turn him into more of an outside dog than inside one but my attempts failed.
In next to no time, I ended up having fur all over the house.
My living room furniture looked like it had a new shag carpet cover and the floors were being taken over by dust bunies the size of tumble weeds.
During Charlies stay, I had to break out the dress uniform for a function at work and by the time I hit the door, it ws COVERED with dog hair.
I stopped off at the shoppette on the way into work and picked up a 3-M lint roller for $3.75 and went through several sheets before the uniform was once again presentable.
When I got home, I broke out the curry comb and brushed and brushed until I had the majority of the loose hair off of him.
I then broke out the lint brush again and hit the furniture and vaccuumed several times.
The lint roller worked great on the dog hair and lint in general for clothes and furniture.
I used it on a variety of clothes and fabrics as a test.
-On smooth (no texture/nap) cloth it works verry nicely
-On coarse or loose weave cloth it is semi-effective
-On plush or shaggy fabrics (sweaters for example) it has next to no use, sticking to the fabric as well as the lint.
The roller is basically a wide roll of masking tape rolled backwards so that the sticky side is on the outside.
When the roll gets full, just peel off the outer layer and you're ready to go. The sheets are pre-cut so you don't have to worry about waste or trying to tear off just the right size piece.
Likes
1. Ease of use, remove the outer cover and roll away.
2. ease of cleaning, Once the roll is full, just peel off the outer layer and start rolling again.
3. price, $3.75 for roller & brush, if you keep your eyes open you can find the refills for around $2.75 for one or $3.70 for a 2 pack.
Dislikes
1. Lint STICKS to the roller, so does the hair of unsupervised kids, their unsuspecting parents, pets, or siblings, fuzzy sweaters, and plush/shag carpet.
2. Storage if you lose the outer cover/wrapper is sticky (not messy butsticky)
