The Bottom Line This is a great craft for recycling envelopes and also preserving childhood memories of school. Have fun creating your favorite child's Memory Album.
This is a project that I made for my niece when she started school. (You may begin your memory album as early as preschool for children who attend preschool) I used envelopes I got from the woman who stocked our greeting card supply at the grocery store I worked at. Check with your local Hallmark store or card store and see if they have envelopes that were mismatched to cards. You may be able to get the envelopes cheap or free. You will need 12 card envelopes all the same size, colors of choice(more if starting with preschool) and a 3 ring binder to hold the envelopes. I covered the album for my niece with fabric and quilting batting...use your imagination to cover yours or leave it plain. With todays binders, it's as easy as inserting a photo, typed page, or piece of art into the vinyl pocket on the front, side, and back of binder to create your cover. Use your imagination and be as creative as you want. Now, on the front of the envelopes type (or write if you have good penmanship) the following information. The flap on the envelope should be on the bottom right hand side. Use the inside of the envelopes to store grade/report cards, special awards, school pictures, etc.  |
